Bella Sposa: Pat & Simon
Pat and Simon met through mutual friends at their local Hockey Club in Enfield, where they both played. Just short of their 5 year anniversary Simon surprised Pat when he proposed! Pat recalls "Simon proposed to me on a night I least expected and a few weeks short of our 5 year anniversary. I’d been caught in the rain whilst out and felt miserable when Simon came in and said some friends were coming round and we were getting a takeaway. He told me to go and get changed and I might feel a bit better.
As I went into the bedroom, he put on Hero by Enrique Iglesias and I thought to myself ‘wouldn’t it be nice if he asked me to dance’ he then called me into the front room and as I thought it was something the cats were doing I went in there without my glasses on and Simon was on one knee in our front room and asked me to marry him. As I didn’t have my glasses on, I didn’t believe what I was seeing so had to run and get them and asked him to say it again. Poor guy must of had a heart attack but I said yes!"

With a budget of 10-15k set, the guest list finalised and a chocolate, butterfly and bling theme set, the couple celebrated at their Hen & Stag parties. Hen Pat travelled by Limo to a boat party on the Thames, where she danced the night away with 20 close friends and family. Whilst Stag Simon celebrated in Brighton with 10 friends, go karting and clubbing.
On the eve of the wedding after a family meal at the wedding reception, Simon spent the night at his Mum’s house whilst Pat stayed at the couples home. The next morning the couple both made their way to the local Baptist Church in Royston, Simon with his Groomsmen and Parents in a Limo & Pat travelled with her uncle in a Bentley.

The Brides Outfit
"My dress was by Margaret Lee. I had a idea of what I wanted and I must of tried on about 50 dresses before I fell in love with my dress My shoes were from the rainbow collection – absolutely worth every penny! I was dancing in them until 1am!"

The Entertainment
"As i’m Italian, we were given the number for a local italian baker who specialises in traditional cakes. It was soft sponge soaked in italian liquor and had an ivory icing with chocolate and cream roses. The Menu on the day was a starter of Anti pasta misto (italian cheese & meats), followed by a choice of either spinach and ricotta cannelloni or chicken Genovese (chicken in a mushroom sauce) and ended with sorbet. We had a finger buffet for the evening along with 3 chocolate fountains; 1 white, 1 milk and 1 dark chocolate.
We decided not to have the original types of favours. We had the bombonieres but we donated money to Cancer Research as we have both lost a grandparent to cancer. We wanted to make sure that our loved and missed family members were connected to our day."
The First Dance
"We had Hero by Enrique Iglesias as it was number one when we first got together"
"I remember being excited from the second I woke up. i just remember feeling a lot of love and happiness from everyone through out the day. I enjoyed myself from start to finish and i’m already planning our renewal for our 10th anniversary!"
