Two Day Celebration: Lora & Neil
After working together for four years, Neil made his move on Lora after finding out that Lora was recently single! It was a move that would lead to the couple planning a two day wedding and getting hitched at Heatherden Hall, Pinewood Studios, Slough. Before the wedding Hen Lora celebrated with friends at an open air Queen Tribute concert at Cliveden House, Berkshire. Whilst Stag Neil got dressed as Lara Croft; hot pants included and went to go ape in Norfolk.
When asked about their initial budget Lora says "We didn’t have one! It was just a case of keep everything as cost effective as possible and not to be silly with money!" In reality their actual budget was £15-20k for two full days, day one was host to the ceremony and meal with 45 guests in attendance to share their special day, on day two the newly weds were joined by 110 guests for a reception and family day.
When it came to deciding on the colour scheme for the wedding, Lora knew exactly what she wanted; blue her favourite colour. Lora Says "I chose blue as my colour scheme as it is my favourtie colour and not one you see very often at weddings." Wanting to include Neil’s passion for VW camper vans the couple decided to include this in their theme with 2 VW buses as wedding cars and another as the cake topper!
The eve of the wedding day was soon upon them, with Lora staying at home and Neil staying locally. The wedding day soon arrived, an excited Lora was picked up by her Dad in Neil’s VW camper and the bridesmaids were collected by Lora’s brother in law in his camper.
The Brides Outfit
Lora found her dream dress at Alexia designs, she teamed the dress with shoes she altered herself to match the colour scheme; "They were a pretty standard pair that I had dyed baby blue to match the colour scheme and then I added around 1000 Swarovski crystals by hand to the heels!" Lora was followed down the aisle by her bridesmaids in matching electric blue dresses.

The Entertainment
"Saturday was a very simple BBQ. Friday we went all out, we had fillet steak followed by a selection of desserts for pudding, along with jelly and ice cream! Our cake was supplied by Foxy Cakes in Eton, Berkshire; they were spot on."
The First Dance
We barely had a first dance as we were to busy chatting to guests, but it was to ‘Zero 7’ by Destiny.
"Our day was unique as it was spread over two days, we feel that some of our choices may have been a little ‘out of the ordinary’ – our wedding favours were rubber ducks, we had a camper van and a rat as cake toppers and goldfish in our table centers! The most memorable part of the day for me was walking out on the stage the day of our reception and seeing all our friends and family so pleased for us and applauding; makes me cry now even thinking about it!"
The Budget | £15,000 to £20,000 |
The Location | Heatherden Hall, Pinewood Studios, Slough |
No. of guests | 45 on Friday and 110 on Saturday |
The Honeymoon | A one week trip to Marbella |
