There are a few unmissable of New York City. The subway is the easiest way to get around Manhattan, so jump on and travel down to South Ferry. Its advisable to pre-book your ferry seats as queues for the Statue of Liberty can wind for hours. Once you have visited the green lady, don’t hop on the subway back to midtown; wander in the opposite direction to discover the Vietnam War memorial and the Brooklyn Bridge.
A walk over the bridge will offer some of the best views to be had in New York. The evening belongs to a Broadway show. Theatres often have special offers on shows. For the man in your life, a basketball, Baseball or ice hockey game is an experience like no-other.
One of, if not the most famous landmark in New York City is the Empire State Building. Hop in the lift up to the 86th floor and watch the sunset over the city. As the sun casts a shadow over the buildings, the neon lights brighten up the city to create a sight you will never forget.
Many people do not realise Niagara Falls is so accessible from New York. A day trip from Manhattan will take you to the magnificent waterfall, a once in a lifetime experience. If history and culture are your passion, the New York history Museum is a must-see. The array of animals may look familiar, as this fun-filled museum was used to film Night at the Museum.
